Malcolm in the middle

When I had twelve years old my favorite series was Malcolm in the middle.I passed a long time in front of the TV looking this serie. Malcolm is a Tv show from EEUU, It is a common family storie, parents and children. I really liked this serie because the characters were very funny. Malcolm the principal character in this history is a intelligent guy, he need to survive in a crazy family. His parents are exploited for the system and always seem to so stressed. He had three brothers men, with similar tastes who him, like sports, music and making bad things. the difference with he is who in the same time liked the science and literatur. In this contex malcolm is very wire, he need finded his place in the world. He stay in a class whit other intelligent guys in the school, Malcolm helps the nerds to survive, he is from another world and  can understand why the people is different. I enjoyed to see as the related in his world, He was different but it was also normal. Maybe I felt same who malcolm when I was a child,  I like differents thing in comparison whit a normal child.

Philip-Lorca diCorcia

I do not study visual arts, but I can speak of the work of an artist.Philip-Lorca diCorcia was born in 1956, is an american photographer. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Afterwards diCorcia attended Yale University where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography in 1979. DiCorcia alternates between  snapshots and iconic quality staged compositions that often have a baroque theatricality.Using a carefully planned staging, he takes everyday occurrences beyond the realm of banality, trying to inspire in his pictures spectators an awareness of the psychology and emotion contained in real life situations.His work could be described as documentary photography mixed with the fictional world of cinema and advertising, which creates a powerful link between reality, fantasy and sad.His photographs would then give a sense of heightened drama to the passers accidental poses, unintended movements and insignificant facial expressions. Even if sometimes the subject appears to be completely detached to the world around him, diCorcia has often used the city of the subjects name as the title of the photo, placing the passers-by back into the city's anonymity.

Mexican Food

Cooking is an art, you manipulate materials as artists, is working on an idea. I like the food in general but My favorite food is the mexican food, I like everything that comes from this place. The most important thing in the Mexican food is the taste, they use many condiment. The color of ingredents is very flashy, it is very interesting to see the colors of the plateful, food colours attract attention. I like mexican food because is very spicy and delicious, I can eat a lot and not feel satisfied. I think the mix of meats, vegetables and avocado is what makes the delicious Mexican food. The taco for example is a mix with meat, onion, guacamole, chile and tortilla. The quesadilla is very similar but has cheese, when you cook you can put other ingredients if you want. Another type of preparation is the enchilda, this plate has chicken and a lots of veggies, when they put mushrooms is very delicious. Maybe the Mexican food is the best in america, the amount of ingredients and flavor makes it very special. 

My best holiday

My best holiday was last year. I visited patagonia only for a month in February. I visited this place because I have friends in Punta Arenas, is more the cheap when I stay in their homes. I did much trekking and visit some small cities for example Port Natales. I visit many parks on the bike from a friend

but the wind makes it difficult to ride a bike. I drank a lot fernet on these holidays, people have many Argentine influence in this place. When I went to torres del paine buy a mate, I became such a fanatic that I drink up to today

Blog

In my opinion I think that it was a very good exercise to write in english. When you can write many of these issues required to use much vocabulary. The first exercises were difficult for that forces you to think of a good wording in another language, We try to write as we could make it in spanish, but it is very different. I can now understand more things in english that I also write it. In Spanish when we read we can write better, in english it is similar, but I believe that writing also helps to read english. It is interesting to also read what you write your classmates, we studied art but we have different tastes regarding that. I had never used a blog before and it was pretty fun, have a space to write good many times. Maybe in the future create a blog to write about anything, I'd like to write about places I will visit for example. The world of the blog gives you many possibilities, this is new for my. Generally like people talk about good experiences, the blog allows you to capture that. This was a very good exercise to practice my English. 

British Museum

The best museums in the world are in Europe, London has the British Museum. The British Museum was established in 1753, is a museum dedicated to human history, art, and culture. Its permanent collection, numbering some 8 million works, an of the more of the world's largest. You can spend a day inside the Museum and maybe not see everything, It should be a great experience.

This museum was heavily criticized for having part of the treasure of Egypt, until today they have not reached an agreement. If someday travel to London I will visit this Museum by its history.This museum to changed for a long time but today is a modern museums.

The Dientes (Teeth) of Navarino

When I visited "Torres del paine" alone I met a crazy french guy. He told me about his travels and diferent places for visiting. The teeth of Navarino is a place in Navarino island, few people know about this island but know Port Wiiliams, Port William is just a city in this big island. Navarino is a not very popular trekking because it is difficult to arrive there, you can take a flight to Punta Arenas but you need to take a ship to Puerto williams, this trip is very expensive. Most people think Antartica is the last place in the world and that there is nothing. There are stories of people who lived months there, Navarino has lakes with salmon you can fish. Since the French man spoke to me, I can't stop thinking about this place, it is my closest dream.

A website that I visit for my career is The Web Gallery of Art, is a virtual museum and searchable database of Western European fine arts of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, and Impressionism periods (1000-1900), currently containing over 38.000 reproductions.The Web Gallery of Art is intended to be a free resource of art history primarily for students and teachers. At the same time the collection serves the visitors' need for a site where various information on art, artists and history can be found together with corresponding pictorial illustrations.Their database with over 38,000 artworks created by over 4,000 artists is free to download. It is difficult to find good images of works by artists on the internet, most of the images have different colors.Web Gallery of Art  retains the original color of the works in a good quality to appreciate . I visit this website regularly especially when I need to do a work on an artist. The Web Gallery of Art is a great website.

TeleDocumentales

The internet allows access to lot of film material, before you needed to pay to see the film that you want. The Internet is a world of options but is difficult to find what your looking for, but the people create specific sites for for many tastes.  My favorite site in the internet is teledocumentales.com because is a website that specializes in documentaries, You can search in different categories for example history, music, film and visual art. Is not necessary to download documentaries because You can watch the videos online. Teledocumentales is a free website, It is not necessary to pay as on netflix. I discovered this web site looking for a documentary called The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness, this documentary is about Hayao Miyazaki and Ghibli Studios. I visit this website when I want to see a good documentary,  I recommend teledocumentales at the peaople to who is looking for something interesting to see and don't want to download the video or pay to see good documentaries.

WALKER EVANS- SUBWAY PASSENGERS

When I was a child i liked to see photography  of my family. The expression of their faces depicts  other time that I didint live, to see the old photographys is enter in other time. In general the people pose for a photography because they like to look good in their pictures, the people look happy but not always is true. My favorite photographer is Walker Evans because he took a picture in search of the more intimete expresion. His photographs were taken in secret, he hide his camera of the persons. Evans was interested in remove the mask of the people. Subway Passanger represesent the continium travel  from the work to a house, the comun person is naked for Evans. Evans was born  in the state of Misouri in  november of 1903, He is witness of the social changes in the United stated, his work reflects the immigrant and working class among other things.

William Turner

Since I was a child I liked looking at books with paintings. That´s why I studied history and theory of arts. I like about my career that I can read and write interesting things. It is not an obligation for me. My favorite artist is William turner. He is an English painter associated with romanticism. His work is very interesting. I especially like his use of light, which gives his paintings an unusual touch compared to traditional romanticism. A lot of impressionistic artists studied his work and his way to capture the impressions of nature, He was born in London, April 23 to 1775 and died in Chelsea, London, 19 December 1851, It was considered a controversial figure in his time, but nowadays is seen as the artist who elevated landscape art.

My first mp3

My first mp3 was the best, I could hear many songs in a small device, before the cd and cassette had very little space, The mp3 was something amazing for its aptitude to store songs. You can listen to many albums in a appliance very comfortable, old devices were never so comfortable as one mp3, Internet enabled access to a lot of music that was previously difficult to achieve, the mp3 is one of the things I most remember when I was a adolescent. the price of a mp3 was not very expensive, depended on the capacity of device, My first mp3 I had 500 mb, I could hear 50 songs, in a mp3 of 1 gb  you can listen three times more, the mp3 was the best thing to go to school.

The subjects in this semester

In this semester I study for my thesis, My interest is in relationship with the art in mesoamerica, I have a guide professor for my thesis, His name is Zoltan Paulinyi, He is an expert teacher in this subject. My expectation whit this new semester is to advance my thesis to submit beginning in 2016. In my extracurricular activities, I like read book, not every books, I prefer  aesthetics  themes for expample authors as Walter Benjamin. Other activities which  I like are writing reviews the movies for my cinema class in the university.It is My training for one day write a big essay.

My small biography

           My name is Fernando, I was born in Ovalle in 1993, I grew up in ovalle with my family. In my family we are four people, my parents Juana and Luis , and my sister Marian. We have three dogs and a cat. My favorite dog is Bono because he is very affectionate. I studied in a catholic school of the name saint george, When I graduated I moved to santiago,   I entered the University of Chile to study History and Theory in Arts. My hobbies are watching old movies  by good directors like for example Martin Scorsese and The Coen brothers,  I like to play soccer with my friends, I like watching and practicing sports in general. My favorite class in the university is about the culture in mesoamerica,  in the future I want to specialize in this subject.
